The wives of Henry VIII.

Henry VIII, the famous Tudor King, was infamous for having six wives and changing churches in the process. He was, what people would call 'a lady's man', meaning that he had many mistresses even when he was married. Some of those mistresses ended up becoming his wives. But it was dangerous being a wife of Henry, for he only liked young women, and he expected them to love him alone. When he got fed up with a wife, it was often a matter of how to buy her off, or have her executed.
