Predator

What is a predator? A predator is an animal that hunts for its food.

A lion chasing prey.

Predators are hunting animals. They can use many different methods to catch their prey. For example, many spiders make webs to trap insects. On the other hand, scorpions use their claws to grab their prey and kill it with their sting. A group of lions works together to set an ambush for zebra or gnu then rush at them to attack, whereas an octopus uses the suckers on an arm to pick up a crab. Predators are found in every habitat. They range in size from microscopic mites to the polar bear and killer whale.
