Pasture

What is a pasture? A pasture is an area of good grassland used for grazing animals. It is normally found in lowlands or valley bottoms in mountain and hilly regions.

A pasture is a field that has been sown with nourishing grasses, clover and other plants that will allow cattle to grow as quickly is possible. It does not contain a range of annual plants, and so does not produce a colourful sight in summer. If a summer field is green in summer it is a pasture; if it is full of pretty flowering plants, it is a meadow.
