Who was Nut? Nut was one of the most important Ancient Egyptian gods, Nut was thought of as the goddess of the starry sky.

Nut.

Nut is the goddess of the sky. She is shown as a naked woman painted with stars arching over the world, her hands and feet touch the four points of the compass. She is often shown being held up by Shu and standing over her husband-brother Geb.

Nut is the mother of Osiris and Isis. Nut protects the world from the darkness and its demons. The Sun god Re appears near her feet in the morning, travels along her body during the day and enters the underworld again at night near her fingers.
