What is metal? Metal is any shiny, usually solid substance that can conduct electricity and which can be bent. Mercury is the only liquid metal.

Metal in a factory.

A metal can usually be pulled thin, as in a wire, and squashed flat into a sheet. Most metals are good conductors of heat and electricity and some are magnetic.
