          The Cassini orbiter being carried by the launcher Titan IVB/Centaur. Cassini and its Huygens probe were launched in 1997 to begin their long journey to Saturn (see page 57).
apollo The program developed in the United States by NASA to get people to the Moon’s surface and back safely.
propellant A gas, liquid, or solid that can be expelled rapidly from the end of an object in order to give it motion.
satellite A man-made object that orbits the Earth.
velocity A more precise word to describe how something is moving, because movement has both a magnitude (speed) and a direction.
