(Left) Household water systems make various uses of water. The water supply company uses hydraulic pressure to send water to homes. It
is put under pressure in pipes and released whenever we turn on a faucet or flush the toilet. Central heating systems make use of the thermal capacity of water in an enclosed system that is pumped between the boiler and the radiators. (Note that air-conditioning systems do not use water but a refrigerant.)
Main supply line brings water under pressure from pumps.
